The Omsk Polypropylene Plant was visited by a delegation of representatives of the Clean Air federal project office, headed by its leader, Maksim Korolkov. The experts got acquainted with the production and logistics corporate centers, and also assessed the progress in the implementation of the Poliom ecological advancement program to be applied until 2024. As a member of the Clean Air federal project, Poliom has already reduced its environmental impact by 17% (compared to 2017).
Due to the inclusion of two modern gas recovery units in the production chain, the company ensures the return of valuable hydrocarbon raw materials into the operation process. In addition to improvement of environmental performance, this approach has made it possible to increase production efficiency - the propylene processing depth has been increased to the maximum value of 99.5%.
Moreover, the Poliom specialists said that by 2024 they would modernize the flaring system. The flare tip replacement and optimization of the service cycles at the enterprise will reduce the impact on atmospheric air by another 7%.
Igor Tikhonov, director general of Poliom:
Poliom has become one of the first enterprises in the Omsk region to join the Clean Air federal project. As a part of this project, we are implementing a comprehensive ecological program, introducing the modern green technologies and environmental practices. For example, due to the use of energy efficient solutions and digitalization of key production processes, we were able to reduce the carbon footprint of our high-tech products by 4%”.
