In 2020, Poliom shipped over 75 thousand tons of polypropylene to the foreign consumers of Omsk polymer, while increasing its contribution to the Russian non-resource exports by 2.5 times compared to the previous period. This is the largest volume of export supplies in the history of the enterprise.
Last year, Poliom significantly expanded the list of its foreign consumers. The products manufactured in Omsk were sent to more than 20 countries, including several countries in Europe, Asia, and South America. Turkey has become the largest consumer of Poliom polypropylene. During the second half of the year, the demand for Omsk polymer has increased in the countries of the southern hemisphere, such as Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Brazil. In order to deliver the consignments to such destinations, multimodal transportation is used, combining land and sea modes of transport.

Marina Ryabova, head of the commercial service of the Poliom plant “The general-purpose polypropylene is in the greatest demand among the exporters. The grade for the production of fiber materials is also rather popular – it is used to make the hypoallergenic and durable carpeting at the factories in Belgium, France and Turkey. The Latin American countries have purchased polymer for the production of raffia, a strong and wear-resistant material that is widely used in food packaging”. |

Igor Tikhonov, director general of Poliom: “From the very beginning, polypropylene made by the Poliom plant has proven itself as a high-quality product among the domestic and foreign consumers. In 2020, we increased external sales by 2.5 times compared to the last year due to the consistently high demand from the foreign partners and due to the favorable situation in the export market”. |
In 2020, the entire brand assortment produced at Poliom was in demand from the domestic and foreign consumers. Over the past period, the list of products has expanded to 17 brands.
