Poliom increases energy efficiency of production

In 2019, the company reduced the electric energy consumption by more than 2 million kWh*, and heat consumption by 11 thousand Gcal. A significant effect was achieved due to the energy saving program.

Based on the results of the energy audit, a set of measures was implemented at production site to reduce the energy consumption level. Such measures include the introduction of digital heating control systems, transition to the energy efficient lighting sources, and upgrade of the technological equipment and processes. Thus, in particular, the installation of thermal covers on the shut-off valves only made it possible to save up to 400 Gcal of heat energy per month.

By reducing the energy resources consumption, such as electric energy, heat, steam, the enterprise reduced the volume of indirect energy greenhouse gas emissions by 11.5% compared to the previous year. In 2020, we will continue to work systematically to improve the energy efficiency of the enterprise”.

It is worth reminding that in 2019, Poliom was successfully certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 50001:2018 “Energy management systems” that regulates energy efficiency management processes.
